Now, when I accelerate from idle, I get this horrible grinding sound for a couple seconds and have to let off the gas. Then I can slowly accelerate. 4WD drive idiot light is not on. While it's true that the full time 4wd mode allows for a little extra slippage between the axles, if the axels don't turn at the same rate, then it will grind your transfer case which might the noise that you are hearing (especially if it doesn't happen in 2wd mode).
